cc-NanoBioNet e.V. is an interdisciplinary network for key technologies. As a non-profit association, it brings together science, industry, and society, fostering knowledge and technology transfer across disciplines. Universities, research institutions, hospitals, companies, as well as stakeholders from politics and society collaborate within cc-NanoBioNet to accelerate the transfer of innovations into practical application.

The network supports innovation processes from the initial idea through to market-ready products. Its activities include the consulting and coordination of research and development projects, the initiation of strategic partnerships, and support for companies in research, development, and qualification. A particular focus is placed on advancing key technologies with high innovation potential to support the transformation of regional and sectoral economic structures.

In addition to its original focus on nanotechnology and biotechnology, particularly in the pharmaceutical sector, cc-NanoBioNet also addresses cross-cutting topics such as Artificial Intelligence and digitalization. Beyond technology transfer, the network is committed to promoting entrepreneurship and talent development. Through support for start-ups and educational and training initiatives, cc-NanoBioNet contributes to nurturing young scientific talent and strengthening the skilled workforce of the future.

Knowledge exchange and the visibility of innovation are central elements of the network’s activities. Congresses, workshops, specialist events, and dedicated working groups provide platforms for dialogue, networking, and collaboration. The successful work of cc-NanoBioNet has been recognized through numerous national and international awards.

As a co-initiator, cc-NanoBioNet played a key role in establishing Health.AI, an innovation ecosystem dedicated to the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence in healthcare. Health.AI connects expertise from research, medicine, technology, and practical application to advance AI-based solutions for diagnostics, therapy, and healthcare delivery while placing strong emphasis on ethical, legal, and safety-related considerations.

Through this commitment, cc-NanoBioNet strengthens the dialogue between AI developers and healthcare practitioners and supports the development of practical AI solutions that contribute sustainably to the transformation of healthcare systems.

With strong roots in the Saar-Lor-Lux Greater Region and an international outlook, cc-NanoBioNet has become a well-connected player within the research and innovation landscape – regionally rooted, globally connected.
